Convert Audio Files in Bulk

Turn a folder of recordings into MP3, WAV or M4A in one go, and give them all the same loudness, mono sound or tidy ends on the way. They come back as one ZIP. It all happens in your browser, so the files never leave your device.

How to Convert Audio Files in Bulk

  1. Open the audio editor and drop all your files on it at once, then choose Same for all. Or choose the Convert tool on the left and press Add files… under Same for all.
  2. Pick the format at the top of the tool (MP3, WAV or M4A). The quality is under More options.
  3. Tick what else every file needs: Make mono, Trim the silence at the start and end, Remove silences longer than 1 s or Level the loudness to a target such as −16 LUFS for podcasts.
  4. Press Save ZIP. The list shows each file's length and size before and after; you get one ZIP with every file in it.

Questions

How many files can I do at once?

Up to 100 files and 2 GB together on a computer, or 30 files and 300 MB on a phone. They are done one at a time, so even long recordings don't run your device out of memory.

Do the files keep their names?

Yes, with the new format's ending: "interview.wav" becomes "interview.mp3". Two files with the same name get "(2)" added, so nothing is overwritten.

What does levelling the loudness do?

It makes every file sound equally loud, at the level you choose (−16 LUFS for podcasts, −14 for YouTube and streaming, −23 for broadcast), with its peaks kept under −1 dBTP so nothing distorts. Handy when episodes or clips were recorded at different levels.

Can I stop it?

Yes, press Stop while it works. Nothing is saved then, and your files are as they were.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Every file is read, changed and saved in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
