Is No Upload Studio made by CapCut?
No. It's an independent project with no link to CapCut or its owners.
CapCut is a big, popular editor with apps for phones and computers and a web version. No Upload Studio is smaller and does fewer things, but it never uploads your files and needs no account. Here's how they compare as of October 2026, with CapCut's side taken from CapCut's own website.
| No Upload Studio | CapCut | |
|---|---|---|
| Account | None. Open the page and start. | The web version needs you to sign in, for example with a Google, TikTok or Facebook account. |
| Where your video goes | Nowhere. It's edited in your browser and saved to your device. | CapCut's privacy policy says it may collect what you create, import or upload through "pre-uploading", whether or not you save or publish it, and stores data on servers in Malaysia, Singapore and the United States. |
| Watermark | Never. | Free exports get a short ending clip with the CapCut logo, which you can delete; premium templates, effects and stock elements add a watermark unless you pay for Pro. |
| Price | Free, paid for by ads (on the editor pages, one strip under the top bar, never inside the editing area). | Free to start; some features need a paid Pro plan. |
| Long videos | Up to 2 hours on a computer; 30 minutes and 1 GB on a phone. | Exporting videos over 15 minutes can need Pro (CapCut says this varies by region on mobile). |
| Picture quality | Saves at your video's own size, up to what your computer can encode. | 4K at 60 frames per second needs Pro. |
| Subtitles | Written from the speech on your device (English and 13 European languages), or your script timed to the speech, or an .srt or .vtt file. Twelve styles. | Automatic captions made with speech recognition, in many languages, and they can be translated. |
| Templates, effects, AI tools | No video templates. A focused set of tools: subtitles, cut, speed, text, filters, transitions, logo, music, fades, ending, crop, rotate, compress, merge, sound and GIF. Its AI tools (subtitles written from the speech, and background removal in the photo editor) run on your device. | A large library of templates, effects and transitions, plus AI tools (some, and premium transitions, need Pro). |
| Cloud storage | None needed: your files stay where they are. | New cloud spaces have had 0 GB of free storage since 25 March 2026. |
| Where it runs | In the browser; works best in Chrome or Edge. | Web, computer and phone apps. |
No. It's an independent project with no link to CapCut or its owners.
Open the video editor, then turn off your internet connection, open a video and save it. It still works, because everything happens on your device. (The first time you use Write subtitles for me, it needs the internet once to download its speech model; your video still stays on your device.)
They're correct as of October 2026. CapCut changes its plans and features from time to time, so check its website for the latest.
